After attending Superbike school sessions in England, Norwegian officials, in charge of the country's motorcycle training programs, say they now see how the school's riding techniques can benefit street as well as track riders. Five Norwegian officials attended the UK schools Keith conducted this Summer completing Levels I through III and were absolutely ecstatic over their progress. They had ridden over 1600 miles and crossed many borders to get there. On their return trip and after applying the techniques taught at the schools and seeing their benefits even for road use, the Norwegian contingent began work on their home rider training program. Learning the skills and discovering the art of cornering, Superbike School style, will be part of the official licensing requirements every Norwegian rider has to pass. The California Superbike School has expanded into Europe. Schools have now been run in Spain, France and Greece as well as England. Norway, Germany and Italy are next on the list of countries 2003 with schools already scheduled in Germany. If you think we have a lot of schools and track days here in America you should see England. Just about any day of the week you can attend a school or track day in England. It's not a new thing to them. But this past year the California Superbike School was voted the top track school in England at the prestigious "Motorcycle News" annual awards banquet. The Brits take this as seriously as we take the Oscars and the Superbike School came out with the Silver overall. The Gold was won by an offroad school run by BMW in the UK. Keith's No BS Bike invention has really stirred up the CounterSteering/Body Steering controversy. BS vs CS is the longest running and most hotly contested point in motorcycling, and one that is still being argued, until now. The BS has now hit the fan. Newsgoups are alive with both praise and criticism for Code's invention. Without naming names, at this writing, only one nationally recognized BS proponent has actually dared to try the bike. The result? After riding it, staring at the tank and shaking his head-- his quote says it all. "I really thought I could do it." Check out the new VR-1 from KBC. KBC is one of the world's largest helmet manufacturers and their first big push into the plush helmet market is noteworthy. We have been using them for over several years now and the improvements have been like clockwork, every year they are upgrading their line. Not only that but the price will shock you. KBC has proven that quality does not cost an arm and a leg. Bringing well researched and correct technical information to the public has been Keith's commitment to motorcycling for 1/4 century. "A Twist of the Wrist" started the whole revolution in rider awareness back in 1982. While the technical aspects of that work have gone unchallenged for nearly twenty years, Keith's new comments on his first book and video along with the magic of digital formatting have brought new life to what many have called the "bible" of high performance motorcycling. The interactive CD version, engineered and produced by Juicy Bitz' own Stuart Gregg, is set to be released after Christmas 2002. Learn to ride while driving? How about an audio cd of Keith reading "A Twist of the Wrist" to calm the commute to work? The audio cd has dozens of new comments by Keith as well as his reading the entire text. The complete text including Eddie Lawson and Wayne Rainey's notes are read by the author. This recording studio quality cd will also be released this year. Most everyone is familiar with the Superbike School's tractor trailer rig that has traveled the tracks of America for many years. So when you come to school don't think you are seeing double we now have two 18 wheelers. The second unit is for student services: lounge, food, lockers for students use, all the schools riding gear and new video viewing booths, are what's inside. We've been surprising Level III students with yet another new feature we added to the school's growing list of services. Level III of the school's curriculum has much to do with specialized bike handling techniques. In order to give riders direct feedback on them we've added video reviews for all Level III students. riding coaches use the new video bike to film Level III riders and then review the tapes during the day to confirm correct application of the techniques or instruct on their proper use. We piloted this taping procedure at Keith's "Code-R.A.C.E." racing school in January and found it to be incredibly useful to students so here it is for Superbike School Level III students as well. England's only race sanctioning body called the ACU (Auto Cycle Union) has opened discussions with our sister California Superbike School in England to become the first accredited private race licensing school in the country. ACU officials met with Brit school Director Andy Ibbott and laid the foundation for using Keith's new Code-R.A.C.E. school format to train beginning level and already licensed racers. Good rubber is a requirement when you come to school and Dunlop has been our tire of choice for the past 21 years. We can offer racer prices on Dunlop 208's only to our students. Give us a call, we can ship you the tires right away or make arrangements to have them changed at the school with our Chief Mechanic, Will. You'd think it would be easy to find good riders who are interested in a job where your main duties are riding around a track all day and it is. Since we are always on the search for on-track riding coaches to train, our head of on-track rider riding coaches, Cobie Fair, recently held two Riding Coach tryouts, one at Willow Springs Raceway. and one at Virginia International. There were 25 riders at Willow and about 16 at Virginia. The real problem is finding good riders who also have our special requirements and are as dedicated as the rest. Do you have the stuff? Give Cobie a call and he'll give you a tryout.
